The monster in the dark.

First Thoughts

Here's my first conflicting narrative. But then I thought about it some more; memory is a fickle thing. This story is from Susan's perpective, as is The Beginning, but the age of her perspective seems different. At least this is how I will reconcile these stories; Memory can be fickle, and the sequence of events isn't always in perfect order.

When?

Over the course of a few hours, whilst escaping Gallifrey for the first time.

Where?

TARDIS console room, corridors and closet (one of).

Notable Quotes

"If we don't know where we are, or where we are heading, then how could anyone follow us?"

"The ship, he explained, was rousing itself from a long sleep, and would react best to gentle persuasion, a quiet word."

"Grandfather had been an ambassador for their people. Susan didn't really know any of the details of that part of his life. It has been long before she had been around."

Gadgets & Habadashery

The Doctor's personal invention: Everlasting Matches

Susan was wearing brown robes, but on clothes which remind me of what she's wearing at the beginning of An Unearthly Child. It's almost like the TARDIS knew to ensure Susan was directed to the 60's closet. ;)

Accurate or Anachronistic?

Should the TARDIS already be full of clothes?

Death Count

0

Energy Alignment

The Doctor is reassured, certain and steadfast in his character.

Adventuring Mentions

Susan wears 60's clothes as she does in her first televised appearance.

Screams!

0

Susan holds her tongue despite being frightened.

Litmus Tests

Does not pass the Bechtel and Race Bechtel tests

Social Issue Focus

Struggling here. The story is more focused on character growth (Susan) than social commentary, as I see it.

And the moral of the story is...

...listen to your Grandfather.
